Government officials are calling for caution following the news that Basque terrorist group ETA is preparing a disarmament announcement for April 8 according to a statement given to French newspaper Le Monde by ETA activist Jean-Noël Etcheverry. PM Mariano Rajoy has already warned there will be no ‘political compensation’ in exchange for the disarmament and insisted the terrorist group must announce its dissolution.
