THE quick action of Guardia Civil officers at Málaga’s airport is being praised after the life of a heart attack victim was saved last week. The alarm was raised last Wednesday by staff in the car rental area after a passenger collapsed and stopped breathing.
The officers told the caller the location of the nearest of the 12 defibrillators which are installed around the airport, and then rushed to the scene where two foreign passengers were trying to help the victim, who remained without showing vital signs. The agents took over cardiopulmonary resuscitation following defibrillator protocols and after several attempts, the man’s heart began to beat.
