Two people have died following a fire in a bar in the Granada town of Lanjarón on Saturday afternoon. Witnesses say a man walked into the Café Nacional shortly after 4.30pm carrying bottles of petrol which he then set on fire. Another six people were injured, some with serious burns.
One body, that of the 54-year-old arsonist, was found at the scene, while the 58-year-old bar owner died in a Sevilla hospital on Sunday morning. One survivor was described as being in “very serious” condition in Málaga’s Carlos Haya hospital, while another two were being treated in intensive care in Granada. The final two were treated for less serious injuries.
