LONG-STALLED work on the new Nerja fire station, located at the junction of the A-7 access road and the N-340 coast road, is set to restart this month but the station is not likely to open until at least early 2018.

The project to build the station, which will also serve Torrox and Frigiliana, is nearly complete but work was halted in March of last year over discrepancies between the Partido Popular-led Diputación de Málaga and PSOE-led Nerja town hall, which co-funded the project’s €1.2 million budget.
