A Marbella-based restaurant group that was raided in a tax fraud investigation two weeks ago is accused of hiding some €10 million euros from the tax office, revealed the Guardia Civil last week.

Five people were arrested in the operation, including La Pesquera restaurant group owner Ramón Mesas, and another seven were named as suspects.

Officers seized €550,000 in cash and identified assets totalling over €50 million euros.

Several of the group’s restaurants and offices, including the headquarters at the Mamma Gina restaurant near the Marbella conference centre, were searched, along with a tax consults’ office in Marbella and safety deposit boxes at two bank branches.
