Treasure Square

The European Film Academy has declared Sevilla’s Plaza de España to be a “Treasure of Cinematographic Culture.” The square, one of the city’s most popular tourist sites, has appeared in many movies from Lawrence of Arabia to Star Wars. Built for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, it is a mixture of neo-Mudejar, neo-Renaissance and art deco styles.
