Exceltur, the association of tourism sector employers, has warned that Spain’s record-breaking season may be hard to repeat. It says business tourism is down thanks to political uncertainty, and despite the best summer for 15 years, tourists are spending less and staying for shorter periods. Exceltur estimates that four million of this year’s 15 million tourists were those who previously went to Turkey or Egypt.
