One of the Costa tourism sector’s pioneering figures, Luis Callejón Blanco, died this week at age 79. Beginning in the 1950s he ran some of the area’s iconic hotels, including the Pez Espada in Torremolinos, and later served as president of the Aehcos hoteliers association and the Zontur industry group, and until last year was the director of Torremolinos’s Palacio de Congresos.
