A new campaign to monitor Benalmádena’s taxis has been launched by the town’s council, in collaboration with the local police. Spot-checks took place last week, with agents focusing on ensuring that drivers are charging the correct tariffs at the appropriate times. Local councillor Bernardo Jiménez said that surveillance will be strengthened to detect the presence of pirate taxis in the town.
