Councillors in Málaga have voted in favour of plans by a Qatar group for a large new luxury hotel in the city’s port area. Only representatives of Izquiera Unida and Málaga Ahora voted against the 135-metre tall project on grounds of environmental impact and the use of public space for private investment. Other councillors underlined the benefits it would bring to the city.
