Benalmádena’s hoteliers have been given an incentive to stay open through discounts to the municipal rubbish rate. Hotels open all year round will get a 60% reduction, dropping to 40% for those that only close for three months and 20% for hotels closed six months of the year. To be eligible, at least 50% of the business’s workforce must be permanent employees, and the saving must go towards improvements. Applications must be made to the town hall by December 11.
