An oil spill at the San Roque Cepsa plant’s mooring buoy in the Bay of Algeciras affected around 500 metres of beach in the La Concha zone of Algeciras last week. Clean-up was carried out on Wednesday following the incident on Tuesday when somewhere between 500 and 2,000 litres of a water-oil mix spilled from the vessel that was carrying it, due to a valve failing to properly seal.
