Two caravans were destroyed when fire razed 1,000 square metres of land on the border between Nerja and Frigiliana on Friday. Witnesses say a group of youngsters were seen nearby just before the outbreak. Simultaneously, Civil Protection volunteers extinguished a palm tree that was on fire, which is believed to have been caused by a cigarette butt thrown from the Balcón de Europa.
