A 32-year-old South American woman has been detained in Málaga on suspicion of child cruelty after she struck her four-year-old daughter in front of police officers after they had helped to extinguish a fire in their apartment. The mother blamed the child for setting fire to a mattress . The woman, described as “problematic,” was already known to the authorities.
