The small town of Cuevas del Becerro, 97 kilometres from Málaga in the rural Guadalteba area, has become the first town to see its local council give the mayor a vote of no confidence in Málaga province since last May’s local elections. Saturday, January 30, saw the PSOE’s Joaquín Esquina replaced by Cristóbal González, of the Más Pueblo party after he received five votes in favour, bringing Esquina’s eight year reign to an end.
