A block of shops and restaurants on Benalmádena’s Puerto Marina was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon, after a fire broke out in the kitchen of a Japanese restaurant. Local police and fire-engines were shortly on the scene, with firemen sealing the kitchen’s vents with foam to try and stop the blaze spreading. The restaurant was badly damaged and two people were treated for smoke inhalation, although their lives were not in danger. Residents were later allowed back into their homes.
