Police in Marbella have arrested two men for allegedly scamming another man who they loaned money to and, after he paid it back, refused to return the items he had put up as collateral. The victim, who runs a buy-and-sell shop, had put up jewellery and other goods valued at over €100,000 – triple the amount of the loan – but was given no receipt, and the men denied having received them.
