Given increasing concerns of drought, farmers in the Guadalhorce valley are to receive around 20% less reservoir water for irrigation this year compared to last, according to an arrangement agreed last week between the farmers and the Junta de Andalucía. There will be periodic irrigation between April and September, and a reassessment of the situation going into October.
