Scenes from the eighth Star Wars movie could be shot on the famous Maspalomas sands on Gran Canaria. Disney producers were said to be “enchanted” by the desert-like setting, as well as other southern parts of the island, during a recent visit. Filming begins next year with the premiere scheduled for 2018.
