A 21-year-old lifeguard on Nerja’s Calahonda beach was attacked by a man on Sunday afternoon. Three adults and a nine-year-old had ignored the red flag and the lifeguard’s warnings and got into difficulties in heavy seas. The guard summoned the rescue craft from nearby Torrecilla beach but the parent was dissatisfied and lashed out, causing bruising to the guard’s mouth, throat and chin.
