A 3.5-magnitude earthquake just northwest of San Roque last Wednesday night was felt in surrounding towns in both Cádiz and Málaga provinces. In Los Barrios a commercial centre was evacuated as a precautionary measure. No injuries or damage were reported, but the 112 emergency line received some 266 calls in the hour and a half following the quake, which hit at 9.02pm.
