A 68-year-old German tourist drowned to death at a beach in the La Carihuela zone of Torremolinos last Thursday. The 112 emergency line received a call at 4.50pm on Thursday reporting a swimmer in trouble and people trying to save him, but by the time the man was pulled from the water he was dead. Two other swimmers who had also been pulled out by the currents were rescued.
