The Supreme Court has upheld the acquittal of a diplomat from Sierra Leone, after three unlicensed firearms, including a Kalashnikov rifle, were found in his Marbella home. The decision saw an appeal from the State Prosecutor’s Office, who had been seeking a conviction against the man for the possession of weapons of war, rejected. The rifle belonged to an escort of the nation’s president, who had previously stayed in the property, and was in storage.
