A Swedish man caused panic in Barcelona on Tuesday, after he stole a gas bottle truck and began driving it recklessly in the wrong direction near the city centre. Police fired multiple shots at the vehicle to bring the high-speed chase to an end. The driver remains in hospital, where he is undergoing a psychological evaluation and receiving treatment. Cataluña’s autonomous government said terrorist motives for the incident had been ruled out.
