The president of the Diputación de Málaga, Elías Bendodo, and the mayor of Benaoján, Soraya García, were on hand last week as a large new wooden footbridge was placed over the Guadiaro river, leading to the Cuevas del Gato cave complex and swimming hole. Part of a €200,000 Diputación-funded project to improve access to the site, work is expected to be finished next month.
