The Esperanza para los Animals association in Mijas has filed a complaint with the Guardia Civil after a cat being cared for by one of its members was fatally shot with a pellet gun while out in the street in the Torrenueva zone. The group says the cat was shot at close range with a 5.5-calibre pellet, which perforated its lung and became lodged in its spine.
