A 66-year-old British man has been convicted and sentenced to 16 months in prison for scamming some 200 parents of children throughout Spain who entered into a short story writing contest. Málaga’s provincial court heard how the Jóvenes Escritores contest promised to publish a book with the selected children’s stories, which the parents could buy for €12.95, but that he then failed to deliver.
