Municipal workers and police from Nerja have cleared a shanty town close to the beach at Maro, removing 1,500 kilos of rubbish by boat. The move follows a recent incident when a group fishing at La Caleta de Maro were assaulted and insulted by people living rough there. One victim suffered an injury and another was bitten by a dog.
