A total of 2,400 ashtrays have been “planted” on the beaches of Torre del Mar. A campaign is also underway to raise awareness of the importance of not leaving cigarette ends in the sands. The “Consume Less” initiative was launched last week by deputy mayor Jesús Carlos Pérez Atencia, and the provincial delegate for sustainability, Francisco De lgado Bonilla.
