MÁLAGA province posted a new record year for tourism in 2015, with 10.6 million visitors and an overall economic impact of 11.13 billion euros, according to figures from Turismo Costa del Sol, the provincial government’s tourism-promotion entity.

It is the second consecutive record year for the province’s tourism sector, after 2014 saw it top the 10 million-visitor mark for the first time.

The figures were positive practically across the board, with more visitors, more airport and train arrivals and more hotel guests and overnight stays, said Diputación de Málaga and Turismo Costa del Sol president Elías Bendodo.
