Málaga finally gets green light for large city park

THE long-stalled project to turn Málaga’s old Campamento Benítez military base into a large public park has finally received the green light to move forward.

Some three years after the central government handed over the 28-hectare site to the city, the Junta de Andalucía last Friday notified Málaga town hall that the regional government’s Environment Department has given final approval to the development plan allowing the creation of the park.
