GRANADA-Jaén airport has become the third busiest in Andalucía after a successful 2015. Business increased by 8.9 per cent during the year, allowing it to overtake Almería’s airport, in terms of passengers and operations, for the first time since 2009, according to figures released last week by the airport’s operator Aena.

The 11,088 aircraft movements was 7.2 per cent up on 2014, with 7,830 of the takeoffs and landings made by commercial airlines. The average day saw 30 movements involving almost 2,000 passengers, 94.8 per cent of whom were on domestic flights.
