Police in Marbella have arrested two women who allegedly conned older, wealthy foreign men, chatting them up at a bar and possibly spiking their drinks in order to steal their bank cards and rack up thousands of euros in charges.
The women, working with two accomplices at a bar in Puerto Banús who have also been arrested, allegedly made fraudulent charges totalling €50,000 on the cards of the eight victims identified to date, said National Police officials. At least two of the victims are reportedly British and one American.
Police received the first complaint in February, when a man reported that two women had accompanied him to his apartment and stole his bank cards, which he found they had used 14 times in a period of just 10 minutes, making charges totalling €4,800.
