Call for street cleaners to use treated wastewater

Street cleaners could soon be using recycled water to spray down roads and pavements

The western Costa del Sol’s public water company, Acosol, has called on the Junta de Andalucía to let town halls across the province use treated wastewater, instead of drinking water, to clean streets and public areas.

Acosol made the suggestion as a strategy to help combat Málaga province’s water shortage, in a letter sent to the regional government’s Environmental Department on October 26.
