Britons seeking Spanish citizenship soar

The number quadrupled during first months of this year

The Cervantes Institute sets general knowledge tests that must be passed by anyone applying for Spanish nationality

The number of Britons who have started the procedure to obtain Spanish nationality since the approval of Brexit has quadrupled from 28 between January 1 and March 15, 2016 to 111 in the same period this year.

The data obtained by state news agency EFE is an example of a trend that started in June last year when the referendum took place.
