A new speaker but no new government

PP's Ana Pastor was elected thanks to an agreement between the Partido Popular and Ciudadanos, and the abstention of several other parties

SPAIN’S Congress, the lower house of parliament has a new president, a role equivalent to that of Britain’s speaker. The inaugural session following last month’s indecisive general election was held on Tuesday morning and saw voting for the presidents in both houses.
