Funding vow for airport expansion plan


The national government and the Catalan executive have agreed a €1.7 billion extension to Barcelona’s El Prat airport, angering ecologists who said it would ‘increase harmful emissions’.

Minister for regional policy, Isabel Rodríguez said the spending would convert the city’s airport into an ‘international hub’.
