Calpe council has set up a special forest watch on alternative days, depending on the official fire risk levels (previfoc) and the availability of volunteers.
The forest monitoring programme is being carried out by the Protección Civil force.
It is linked to adverse weather conditions, such as drought and strong winds, which increase the risk of fire spreading.
