The dead puppies were dumped in a rubbish container

The police are on the hunt for an individual who dumped eight puppies in a rubbish bin and left them to die.

The incident happened last week in the village of Senés. The Guardia Civil said a member of the public raised the alarm after discovering the dogs in a rubbish container on a crossing between Senés and Tahal.

The dogs had been placed in a sack. Seven were already dead and badly decomposed when the agents arrived at the scene, but they also found a newborn puppy covered in worms and still clinging to life.
