Expat to open Oria observatory

An Alicante-based British man has requested planning permission for an observatory in Oria.

Colin Cooper runs astro-photography holidays from his villa in Jalon (Alicante), but together with professional UK-based astro-photographer Ian King decided last year to expand the business by building a totally remote controlled professional observatory far away from light pollution.

The two spent many months researching possible sites for their new venture before settling on the mountains above the Almanzora valley in Almería.
