The body of a woman found in a dinghy off the coast of the Cabo de Gata on Monday (August 15) is thought to be that of a migrant attempting to reach Almería from North Africa.

The inflatable dinghy was found floating near the Cabo de Gata lighthouse by another boat which advised the emergency services.

The body was in an advanced state of decomposition but was identified as that of a middle aged woman and was taken to the Almería institute of forensic medicine for an autopsy.
