The Valencia government has aimed to show that the continuation of the Elche-Crevillente health department under private management is not a foregone conclusion.
The 15-year concession operated by Ribera Salud runs out in June next year.
Regional health chief Marciano Gómez has to decide whether to allow the contractor to continue running the service.
