Fin whales may be residents, say scientists

The Earth’s second-largest animal has long been a regular visitor to the waters of Alicante province – but scientists now believe they may be year-round residents.

The fin whale (Balaenoptera Physalus) is observed off Denia’s and Jávea’s coasts typically in late summer when they head south – and has be filmed close to the coast of Torrevieja.
