TWO mountain ramblers died while out walking in the Tinença de Benifassà area in Castellón at the weekend.
The two women, aged 40 and 53, plus a man were reported as missing after they braved the snow and freezing temperatures and ventured out into the mountains on Saturday.
An intensive search operation was launched including a helicopter patrol, which located the man on Sunday afternoon.
He reportedly showed symptoms of hypothermia and was rushed to Castellón general hospital.
Before being airlifted to safety, the rambler pointed out the location of his two companions – who were found to have perished from the cold.
