Cost of storm gloria keeps mounting

BELLREGUARD is considering not rebuilding its seafront esplanade after Storm Gloria and to ‘return it to its natural state’ rather than ‘spending millions’ for it to get ripped up again by a future storm.
Due to coastal erosion legislation, the wrecked promenade now occupies what is legally termed ‘public land’, or the actual beach, meaning the town council does not have jurisdiction to take action.
