Loneliness or illness 'major problems for ageing expats', say carers

A new volunteer task force met for the first time this week in Mojacar with the aim of tackling the difficulties experienced by elderly British residents who become ill or isolated in the community.

The lack of a local nursing home is part of the problem, along with any formal outreach care program, but now funding may be available from Mojacar council for an expat-focused care in the community scheme, according to councillor Jessica Simpson.
