Police are searching for a 78-year-old Spanish woman who suffers from Alzheimer’s after she went missing in Turre last weekend.

Lucía García Hernández was last seen on Saturday afternoon (October 22) by her husband when she left home to visit her daughter a short distance away in the rural neighbourhood of Royo Morera, located between Turre and Sorbas.

Relatives raised the alert after she failed to show up hours later. A large search operation was launched, involving some 40 Guardia Civil and local police officers, in addition to dozens of firemen and civil protection volunteers from Turre and four other municipalities.
