Two Partaloa residents originally from England and Ireland are facing a combined prison sentence of eight years after allegedly attacking a British couple in their own home in Partaloa in May 2014.

The couple were held hostage for several hours and repeatedly beaten while their attackers drank whisky and beer in their house, according to the public prosecutor’s statement.

The assault took place after the four had spent the evening together in a bar, after which the two accused went to the victims’ house, allegedly to recover mobile phones taken by the couple by mistake.

On arrival at the house the attackers set upon the man, who was in the doorway of his home, kicking and punching him.
