Dolphin dies after being handled by beach goers

Animal rescue association Equinac has appealed to the public not to touch or surround animals found on beaches, after a baby dolphin died in Mojacar last week.

The young dolphin was seen swimming, “wounded and disorientated” according to an eye witness, near the shore at El Lance beach.

As soon as it was spotted, a crowd of beach goers surrounded it, touching it and holding it up for photos.
