Cantoria’s ex-mayor charged in new case

The ex-mayor of Cantoria has been charged in a new corruption case and faces being barred from holding public office for 10 years if found guilty.

The new allegations centre on the awarding of 13 public works contracts between 2007 and 2010, which were signed off by Sr Llamas in his capacity as mayor. The public prosecutor’s office says these contracts were invalid due to “administrative grave defects of form” which the mayor was fully aware of, rendering them “suspect and illegal”.
